I was assaulted and raped at place of employment.  Prosecuting Attorney is asking me, the victim, to take CVSA on January 20th.  Says mine and defendant's statement jive, except he says it was consensual, I say not!

The prosecuting attorney should be fired for incompetence for making  decisions on the basis of CVSA results. The manufacturer of this quack device has admitted in court that CVSA "is not capable of lie detection." The CVSA is little more than an interrogator's prop, and a chapter from the CVSA operator's manual, that I'd be happy to e-mail to you if you send me your e-mail address through a private message, proves it.

I think you would be wise to refuse the CVSA "test" and consult a lawyer. You are being treated as a suspect, not a victim.

I tried to Skype you, but it would not let me through!  I know I need help, but not sure where to turn here.  I live in a Redneck County, big time!  Newton County, Missouri!  I work as a night desk clerk, 11pm-7am shift at the Best Western Hotel.  That is where it happened.  I agreed to the CVSA, 2 questions, but refused to sign the release, so, based on that, they refused to file the case.  I have documented pics of bruises at local PD, and my clothes were sent off for DNA testing.  HE admitted the sexual act, but says it was consensual, not forced, so I was asked to take CVSA.  I told truth from beginning.  HE changed his story 2 weeks after the fact!!!!!!!!  Thanks for your time, Katie

Katie,
Did they give the suspect a test? It's very unusual to test the victim of a crime absent a request by the victim. Lots of places will not test any sexual assault victim. Try asking the investigator to fill you in on parts of the investigation which you don't know about.
Good luck

PA office said both myself and suspect would be asked to take the CVSA, but when I asked if he had taken it, PA office said they were not at liberty to say.

katie,

The thing to remember here even more so with the CVSA,  is it is even less accurate then a polygraph. About as good as flipping a coin. The CVSA operater will be a professional interrogator though and expecting you to fall into his little trap. Make sure you tell him you have researched the CVSA and know it to be worthless. And do make sure you quote where you got the information from. And don't fall for the garbage that honest people with nothing to hide, don't research Polygraphy or CVSA use. Stand your ground tell the truth and all will be well. With or without the use of another bogus machine.

Good luck & Regards ...
