I have watched and read Doug Williams material and I know he had a hypnosis technique for the polygraph. Does anyone have access to it? I would love to see it.

It's one of those topics that feels a bit like a Ritzo Casino https://ritzo-casino.fr/ game, where the interesting part is understanding the mechanics behind it rather than just the result.

Never knew Williams had a hypnosis angle at all, always figured his stuff was purely the countermeasures manual. Would genuinely like to see how that one held up for people tbh.

The late Doug Williams didn't exactly teach hypnosis as part of his training. Rather, he incorporated relaxation suggestions that he said were taken from the Lamaze childbirth education method. This entailed instructing the subject to imagine, during all but the asking of the "control" questions, that they are peacefully relaxing at the beach as the waves gently come in and out.

There is no published research on the effectiveness of this technique, which was combined with augmenting reactions to the "control" questions.

The hypnosis bit always sounded more like a confidence aid than some separate magic trick. The manual side is what most people remember him for.

Calling it hypnosis probably gave the routine more mystique than it deserved. The beach imagery sounds closer to basic relaxation than anything stage-showish.
