DoDPI Budget Information

If you've ever wondered just how much the Department of Defense Polygraph Institute (DoDPI) is costing the taxpayers, that information is available at p. 13 of the Defense Security Service's Fiscal Year (FY) 2003 Budget Estimates (617 kb PDF), which indicates that DoDPI cost $2,644,000 in FY 2001 and will cost approximately $2,711,000 in FY 2002 and an estimated $2,898,000 in FY 2003.

WOW!!!......I had no idea of the costs of operating DoDPI......what a great bargain!.....I sure wish that other government entities could demonstrate the same fiscal responsibility that DoDPI obviously has......Thank you George...thank you for bring to the attention of the American public what a super deal they are getting from DoDPI....Here they are producing an incredibly valuable resource for a paltry sum...I would not be surprised to see a significant number of citizens writing to their elected representatrives and encouraging them to make more funds available to DoDPI....after all if they can do what they do right now for that sum...just imagine what they could do with more!...Again, Thank you George....you are a heck of a guy!

He's right of course-- when one weighs the incredible productivity of DoDPI trained polygraphers, the shear numbers of spies and secret agents they've ferreted out over the years, the tens of millions of dollars forcibly taken from American taxpayers seems a paltry amount.

Oh wait. Nevermind. They have never caught a spy. Ever. Not once.

What really seems ironic is that the DoDPI probably pays these "highly trained professionals" less then the LASD pays their polygraphers.

The DoDPI guys have a "more important" mission and as Beech Trees has eluded to, can't seem to complete their intended purpose. They probably never will.
