I have signed a coe for an engineering internship; however, I am now scared about the polygraph and just working for the government in general because of its high secrecy.

When I signed, I didn't think too much about the work or invasive background check; however, in recent weeks, it has been bothering me.

I do not want to work for them any longer, what should I do?

I would say to acknowledge and then decline the COE.

I seriously doubt that merely terminating your application would create any further negative issues for you.

Your concerns about the polygraph and the BI are certainly well-founded.
