I failed the polygraph when I was trying to get hired for the border patrol. I am going to apply for a federal air marshal. You do not have to take a polygraph, will they not hire me based on this failure. Can I stop them from using it against me?

You raise a very interesting question. Both Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) and the Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS) fall under the Department of Homeland Security. Unfortunately, I do not know whether your polygraph failure with CBP will be used against you by FAMS. Could you let us know whether it becomes an issue?
