Okay, back in high school, I had a sexual relationship with my girlfriend who at the time was underage.  I was never arrested or charged but also understand (now) that what I did would have been constituted as a felony.  It has been over ten years since and wonder if this is a DQ for federal law enforcement or not.

Thanks for your replies!

I don't about it causing a DQ, but it could get you arrested. In some states there is no statute of limitations for sex crimes and doesn't require a complaint from the minor. Fact is that any LEO or medical professional that learns of the crime are  required to arrest you or report you to the authorities.

twoblock is wrong.  first an admission alone is not grounds for arrest

second you are under no obligation to identify your underage sexual partner

third it is very unlikely the admission will disqualiy you from any LE postition.

It it does they are unrealistic and you should look elsewhere

How old were you and how old was your girlfriend at the time?  What state were you in?

If you answer those questions then you can at least know if you were actually committing a crime or not.  For example, in Connecticut, if two 14-year-old students have sex they are not committing any crime.  If an 18 YO has sex with his 14 YO girlfriend he is guilty of Sexual Assault in the 2nd degree.

In your state, if an eighteen year old male has sex with a 14 female and he admits it on an application  or to a LE polygrapher for employment for LE or to a medical professional, is he likely to be arrested by the police or reported to LE by the medical profession? I don't think I'm wrong in a lot of states.

Depending on where and when the sexual assault took place, and also depending on whether the polygraph examiner is a CSP Trooper or a private contractor, the applicant may indeed wind up facing a criminal investigation.
