Although the thrust of this article pertains to the tracking of convicted sex offenders with small Global Positioning System devices, a fair amount of the story discusses the current use of polygraphs in post-conviction sex offender 'treatment'.

Fair use quotes:

Los Angeles, however, has expressed interest in the polygraph program Orange County has instituted but is waiting to see what kind of reception it receives in the courtroom... Orange and San Diego counties are the only major jurisdictions in the state to use random lie detector tests on sex offenders. And in the year since it began, some judges have raised warning flags...

and most appallingly:

"Providing treatment without it [the polygraph], it's like providing treatment in the blind," he said.

"It is the duty of the patriot to protect his country from its government." ~ Thomas Paine
