National Agency Check or NAC

I'm going to work on a military base and was told I'd be required to undergo a National Agency Check, however, no one told me what this consists of. I've lived quite a boring life, no arrests, no criminal records etc, I did however legally change my first name, and my ex assclown husband destroyed my credit four years ago which I am rebuilding currently and I have remarried.

Can anyone tell me what the process is on a NAC? I filled out the SF85P,but I am unclear as what exactly they will do. My employment history is spotty as I have underwent four downsizings in the past three years, and have been unemployed on and off, so I filled out the supplemental form as well.

The NAC check is nothing more than your information ran against the federal databases as to whether or not you have ever been arrested or sentenced for a crime.
If you don't have a record then you have nothing to worry about. This is pretty standard stuff, and proforma for jobs you are applying for when working on or around the military. Your work history and that type of information is not even part of the check. So not to worry.
