help.Disqualified w/o given reason?????

I was wondering what were my legal rights...i was sent a letter saying I was disqualified and the reasons were confidential.. Can I find out this info or r they legally allowed not to tell me?  Can they provide this info for future positions I apply to at all?  Do I need to let any other govt agency know I was dq'ed?  PLEASE HELP!!!!!

The department has no legal requirement to tell you why you were disqualified.  The department cannot disclose any information about you to another department without an authorization signed by you.  However, as a practical matter, any department interested in hiring you will require you to sign an authorization as part of the backround process.  Finally, any department to which you may apply in the future will require that you provide the names of all departments where you previously applied.

You may file a request under your State's open records act or similar such name.  In GA, "closed investigative" files are open to inspection. Your State may be different.

You will find out in short order if some version of that law applies to you
