Steroids usage, poly , dept policy

Would a week long steroid usage be frowned upon by police departments. Be that it was back in high school and i now am 24 yrs of age...I do not know the drug policy for the dept. Chicago inv told me some depts may overlook minor usage.. WOuld it be best to tell up front before the poly, or just used the countermeasures that i have been practicing... ???
