Here we go, I took a polygraph last week and I imagine I did fine.  TOld truth, did not use any CM.  The polygraphist did not bring up any problems or any post interrogation with me, said he would "forward the report to the PD, Good Luck".  Now, I get a call from the PD telling me I have to go back and do a follow up polygraph.  What or Why??  Has this happened to anyone??  Why would they want me to go back??  If I failed, would they ask me to do it again??  I can't imagine that happening.... Please help..Thanks

Just read what george has to say.
I'm sure if you do that you wont have any problems. Or did already read his nonsense and try to make a CRUDE attempt to beat "the little machine."

Howard,

It appears that your polygraph charts have ultimately been scored as something other than "passing." The charts may have been deemed to indicate deception, but it is more likely that they were scored as inconclusive. Alternatively, you may be wrongly suspected of having employed polygraph countermeasures. (Polygraphers cannot reliably detect sophisticated countermeasures -- just as they cannot reliably detect deception -- but that does not stop them from making accusations.)

I recommend that you carefully read (and re-read) Chapters 3 & 4 of The Lie Behind the Lie Detector and take appropriate action to protect yourself against a false positive outcome.

Has anyone else ever been scheduled for a retest after taking the first test without asking for a retest?  And what were your results after taking the retest???  I just would like to know why I have to take another poly after the first one.  If I failed, why would they bother giving me another one?? Right?  The PD already did the background and I already did the pschycological.
