i was reading a post on here where someone mentioned that they beat the polygraph using only breathing techniques. i have also read the part of the lie behind the lie detector that mentions breathing countermeasures over and over and im left a little confused. is it possible to raise the reactions to the controll questions simply by altering ones breathing? would this raise ones pulse and blood preasure? please help

thanks  :)

I do not know to what extent breathing countermeasures might also influence pulse and blood pressure. If I were to choose one countermeasure method, it would be mental countermeasures, which are likely to produce breathing reactions without one's having to think about it.
