Hey  Bapat  !!!

Dude!  having the quesions won't do you much good since you can't
possibly know how the questions are linked together!

There are like, 4-5 validation scales and 135 other clinical tests
computed from your answers.

Your attempt to second guess the test would fail somewhere and you'll
get caught-out!!!!

If you really got problems, don't try to fake it, it won't work!!
They have been working on perfecting MMPI since the 1930's!!!!

Stop smoking Pot and be a well adjusted smart-ass like me!!!

........'cause they don't call me 'Mad Mikey' for nothin'!!!!  LOL

see ya!!!

I recently applied to work in Law Enforcement for the first time. After graduating from Universty, having plenty of work and volunteer experience I thought I would have a good chance of being hired. Anyways, after applying and passing the panel interview I did the MMPI2 and did not spend too much time thinking about the questions (as instructed). After doing the MMPI2 they made me and all the other applicants meet up with a psychologist. After meeting up with the psychologist they emailed me a letter 2 weeks later indicating that I would no longer be considered in the process. I am devastated because I honestly dont know what went wrong. So right now I am volunteering some more in order to keep busy. I am also looking for other ways to improve myself before re-applying again.

I will ask the same question that I have about polygraph. Why would you want to work for an intity that puts such faith in that crap? It's a total fraud on the taxpayers. As with the polygraph, it has NO validity in employment.

I agree with you Twoblock. I didn't think it was fair either, I mean how could this happen to me. But I want to try again. I want to show them that I am not a quitter. I am going to improve myself as much as I can and re-apply after 6 months. Hopefully something good will happen the second time around. If not, I will give another Police Service a shot. Worst case scenario, I will switch career goals. At 23 years of age, I think I've got plenty of kick in me.  :)

Hey Payne!

Dude!  Always think carefully about the questions and answer them
HONESTLY.  You may have been a bit careless and screwed yourself.

Other errors often made are when test takers mark their answer in
the wrong box, (off by 1 or 2 throughout the test) or even started marking in the wrong coloumn on the form, therefore all the answers
are totally screwed up!!

Good luck next time!

Thanks for all the advice and support fellas. You know its puzzling that my rejection letter did not say whether I passed or failed the MMPI2. It simply stated that I would no longer be in the process for that particular position.

Mind you that the position I applied for is called Prisoner Escort Officer. There is alot of competition in this field since every police service has a few Escort Officers while bigger cities have 20+.

Maybe I passed but was just not competetive enough and someone else got the job. Oh well, I'll man up and re-apply after some time. Hopefully the next time around they will see that I am a different and much more improved person.

Is it possible to view the rest of the test?ThanksPlease e-mail

Wow, this is pretty sad.  The MMPI is the most widely used, widely research psychological instrument in history.  It is, however, a poor instrument for screening law enforcement applicants if it is being interpreted by someone without any training on working with law enforcement officers.  The civilian profile looks different from the law enforcement profile.  If the examiner expects your profile to look like the "normal profile" you will get screened out.  If they understand uniformed service personnel, they will not screen out applicants so readily.  The problem isn't the test, it's unqualified examiners interpreting the test.  Talk to your departments about it if you are upset, but arguing that the MMPI is crap is a silly argument.  There is far too much research supporting it's use.  Also, publishing these questions online is a serious copyright infringement let alone the fact that you are breaking the law in the process of trying to be hired into law enforcement.  Pretty sad.

Mad Mikey

Hi all!

Well said POLICESHRINK!!!!

Since the 1940s all kinds of people in all walks of life have been profiled and compared to Control groups to verify the validity of the test and new tests developed around the standard 567 question set.

Look up any books by James N Butchner, (the U of M guy that runs all MMPI research).

...remember, they don't call me Mad Mikey for nothin'!!!

Hi.

I am writing to ask you to please take down these questions, as it invalidates the test. I don't know if NCS Assessments could sue, but I do know that they would greatly appreciate you taking down this information. No one is supposed to have access to this information unless they are licensed psychologists or are in a graduate degree seeking licensure- it is strictly confidential information.

Thanks.

Once information hits a computer it is NOT confidential any more. Computer guru's tell me that anyone's computer can be hacked. Even our nation's security systems, but the stupids keep using the net as a secured entity. During research for case law I have inadvertently hacked into places that I shouldn't have been and I'm far from being a computer guru. Though I immediately got out, I was still there.

thug cop you do not have those questions in the write order. so you guys be careeful, those guestions are there but not in that order!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
