Pre-employment polygraph

Here's my situation:

I have a pre-conditional offer of employment with a police agency. Two years ago I was a volunteer for a police department where a polygraph was required - I passed (the administrator stopped the test after round 2 and said I passed with flying colors.) I then moved locations a year later and was given a pre-conditional offer with another police department where I "failed" there polygraph and had to come back for a second test. NOW, I have another polygraph coming up for another police department and I don't want to lose out on this opportunity. I'm young and have lived a clean life and don't see how I could fail one.

MY QUESTIONS:

1) Both places I worked or was going to work, the conversation started off with "have you ever taken a polygraph". Should I tell the administrator about my "failed" polygraph, even though I "passed" the one before? Is this information confidential?

2) What's the best technique or having success in passing one, as I've research a lot of honest people "fail" polygraphs all the time?

I don't want to research much information because I know that may hurt, but I just want to be the most prepared too.

You are making an all too common ASSUMPTION that the polygraph detects deception.  It doesn't.  So, yes, you can live a clean life, tell the truth, and FAIL.

Realizing that is Step 1.  

Remember, a polygraph is just a form of interrogation.  The goal of any interrogation is to get possible self-incriminating information out of you.  Polygraph operators do this by convincing you that their machine is indicating that you are being deceptive, or are having trouble with certain questions.  Even though YOU KNOW YOU ARE TELLING THE TRUTH.

This is how they get information out of you.  They tell you to get things off your chest, get everything out there that could possibly be bothering you.  That way, you WON'T have that weighing on your mind when they ask the questions again.  People then start talking, and talking, until they finally give the examiner what they need to fail them.  Don't fall for it.  Tell the truth, and stick to your answer, no matter how bad they say you are reacting.

Read the "Lie behind the Lie detector", which can be downloaded from the home page of this site.  Polygraph operators hate it, and don't want you to read it.

Also, act like you don't know much about the test.  Act dumb.  And don't mention the fact you've been to this site.  THEY HATE THIS SITE!  A polygraph examiner recently banned from this site, accused the author of the book mentioned above, and owner of this site of collaborating with islamist terrorists.  He also may be the one who vandalized an on-line article written by the site owner.  They are desperate to silence the info on this site.

Thank you so much. I read over the PDF file, Chapters 3-5 and I am very surprised by the exact questions/styles that were assessed to me the last time I failed - it makes so much sense! I'll look forward in posting my results!

Don't mention it.

Just remember, don't let your tester know what you think and know about the dark and secret art of polygraphy.  They are arrogant and vindictive, and will use that against you. And you will be cursed by evil wizards.

They are NOT there to help you and don't give jack diddley shit if you are hired or not, though they will try to make you believe they do.  Review some of the past posts of polygraphers like SanchoPanza, TheNoLieGuy4You (Patrick Coffey) and others if you don't believe me.

Dear T.M.,

Good news - no deception indicted! What a relief - the materials on this website and the extensive PDF book are 100% accurate. I used all the recommended countermeasures to the interrogation and it was amazing. "No questions asked"  and I passed even after the "post test" interview.

For example, where there control questions?   What CMs did you use.  Just give us the low down on your test.  Did they accuse you of being deceptive?
