failing a polygraph test

After you have failed a police departments polygraph test is it possible to go to another police department and try again or does it go on your record that you failed the polygraph test?

Btw im still trying to find techniques to beat it if anyone wants to post some that would be great.

In Connecticut you are required to pass a polygraph before being admitted to the police academy.  It is common for applicants to fail one or more polygraphs and then finally pass another.  There is likely inter-agency communication which includes the fact of the failed polygraph, but it is not taken seriously and serves as no bar to employment.

Read the "lie behind the lie detector" which can be downloaded from the home page.

You might not need to employ countermeasures.  At the very least, you will be a lot less gullible and naive about the process.  And less suseptible to fall for whatever bullshit the polygrapher throws your way.  Starting with "Gee, my machine is showing that you are defintely being deceptive.  Better get whatever is bothering you off your chest...yada yada yada"

I'm sure that Connecticut's police officers are way more better than those of Minnesota, which doesn't use the polygraph.

Using the polygraph for employee screening purposes is a joke--polygraphers themselves don't even pretend to have evidence that it leads to a better cadre of employees.  And since they'll lie about anything that's pretty telling.
