I didn't even know this board exsisted until about a week ago, when I started to get different people telling me things about the polygraph. My Poly was a month ago so I started to wonder about how it worked and started to try and do some research and came across this site. After reading the board tonight and seeing that a CM=Counter measure and being accused that I did from some people on the board(which I didn't, I showed up straight from my job ready to get the test over with so I could move forward in my application progress). For anyone on this board that may be a Polygraphist I am not knocking Polygraphist in general, I was just told that the Polygraphist I got from my Law Enforcement friends and teachers, that he did things that were questionable. All I was looking for on here was that were some of his actions that he did during the test questionable. I respect people that are Polygraphists as a profession, I was just looking for some answers about what I had gone through.

Who is to say just how much you smoked. Was there any coke in those doobs chief? Was it 4 jays and not 3---or was it bong hits over the weeks and you are saying "joints" to sound like less a "comfort user." Honestly, the weed use shows a lack of maturity and discipline. As a cop, you have to enforce all kinds of laws that may seem nonsensical----like marijuana laws for example. I bet you think because you know so much about drugs that such knowledge would make you a lethal enforcer. This is college kid folly my man-----ya don't have to be a crook to reasonably think like one----you just have to pretend to be stupid. Which is exactly what you did far too recently. LE agencies can get strong, reasonably intelligent ( ;)) drug free applicants without needing to delve into hiring the witty recovering stoner who is a fantastic pretender and hasn't quite got the short-term memory back to cloudless full capacity yet.
Go clean for 5 years, then I'll be more impressed, and so will the fuzz.

majikninja,

If thats all you did then stick to your story, As Paradiddle says in his opening statement, dont let them try and convince you in to thinking you tryed it more then you actually did. but he also makes a good point at the end, you have to show that you are clean for several years before the investigators will really believe you, but dont let that stop you from applying again. Also Paradiddle, it has been proven through psycholgy that most cops and criminal minds think alike, thus the phrase it takes one to catch one. The only difference is most cops know our purpose and desire not to act in the criminal way. We use our intelect to catch the wrong-doers and not become them.
