It's just impossible to judge ones moral character on this machine. If you were to hook up the most notorious of immoral criminals to this machine, they would pass with flying colors. Do you think that people like Manson would pass? Of course, they can answer any question without the least bit of regard or concern. They have that screw loose where they are lacking the human element of distinguising right from wrong.

On the other hand, those that have high moral character will be bothered by such acusatory quetions (and they are acusatory) because they find such topics to be of a serious nature and are totally against everything in their moral fiber. To be falsely accused and disgraced would be sickening to the individual and devastating to ones career.

Maybe not all share this theory, but I think that this may be the case in many failed polygraph cases.

You raise a good point.  A polygraph is not a predicter of future behavior.  If it were, then we'd never have federal agents betraying the government to sell secrets to foreign governments.  We often hear about such persons doing just that.  Why didn't the polygraph weed them out?
