Hello,

Im in the application process for a Police Department, which includes a poly.

My question for you guys,

While you are hooked up to the machine can they ask you questions with specific information to include names and dates?  For example:

On January 20th did you steal from Joe Blow?

Do they ask these type of questions while you are hooked up?? with that specific detail?

In a hurry and havent had a chance to really read the information on this site.  Awesome Site by the way.

Questions asked in pre-employment polygraph screening are more general than the one you suggested. Instead, you might be asked a relevant question such as "Did you ever steal anything worth more than $200?" You might also be asked a question such as, "Did you ever take anything that did not belong to you?" But this second question is a probable-lie "control" question -- one that is intended to cause a reaction even in people a department would want to hire.
