I recently retired from a very large police department.  I relocated closer to my family due to there declining health.  After a few months of sitting around doing nothing I decided to apply to a very small township department.  Passed all the tests then was scheduled for a polygraph.  Me and the examiner worked out the questions and at the end he stated "I had problems with 2 questions"

1- was drug use during my time on the previous dept
2- was the handling of evidence in arrest situations.

He didnt state wether they were deceptive and that he would have to compare them to other questions, but Im starting to get worried.  If he decides they were being answered deceptively do I have any recourse or is it all over?   Oh and by the way I answered them truthfully, I have 20 years of integrity checks and random drug testing to prove it.

Thank you.

Terapin,
He's probably trying to rattle you. I would just stay consistant and politely keep denying the false acusations if he brings it up again in a follow-up interview. You know about interrogation techniques and that's who your dealing with. It's the old "your buddy just rolled on you" deal.
Your case is exactly why this site is here and why the FREE book download is available. If they try to bring you in for another poly, I suggest you be prepared. The book will give you a full understanding of the crap machine and show you how to make sure you produce a truthfull chart for them. I've had to take several polys over the years and I can assure you from experience that simply telling the truth doesn't always cut it.

Just hope you didn't admit to anything to the exam or admit to anything you didn't state on your application/pre poly questionaire. If you did you are done...if not...its all based on the poly...not you.
