Hello, I recently took a polygraph for the TSA and I had a rather troublesome experience. Before I even sat down the examiner asked if I was married. I told him that I wasn’t and he asked why not. I explained that I had just chosen not to marry and that I’m 40 and I like being single. He seemed to be put off by my response so I asked him why my marital status mattered. He said that the first question he likes to ask married guys is about the dating or cheating apps they use to cheat on their spouse. I told him that I was single and that I didn’t have any dating or hook up apps. He then looked at me and said “ you know some guys are chronic masturbaters and they need to masturbate once a week.” He didn’t put this in question form but judging by his facial expression he clearly was asking if I was a chronic masturbator. During the rest of the interview he was aggressive and accusatory. I barely got a chance to speak other than to say yes or no.  At the end of the interview he told me that I had failed. He said that I had failed on the crimes against person question. I told him that I had been a crimes against persons detective for several years and that the phrasing of the question immediately brought up tons of memories of cases that I have worked over the years. He told me I should see a counselor to be able to not think about those things when taking a polygraph. I appealed the decision to the quality control section of the tsa and was told that all procedures had been followed. I don’t see how it’s the procedure of the tsa to ask about masturbation. If anyone know how to appeal a decision above the quality control section of the TSA please let me know. Also if anyone knows of a good attorney for a matter like this please give me their name and/or contact info. I’ve never committed a crime and I won’t have my career derailed buy a guy with too much power and his obviously unreliable little machine. Thank you
