 The term, "Lie Detector" is a common slang used to identify the polygraph process.  

Common slang for a slang process is closer to the truth.


THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A LIE DETECTOR! (w/ the exception of your mother, of course).

Some time back you inferred that my comments were too personal and that you would therefore not respond to my posts.
Well Sackosh*te, at least I know who my mother is and that she doesn't have a tail. Unlike yours.


 Do we, the polygraph community use this common slang?  Yes! Yes! Yes!  So get over it, already!!!  Roll Eyes

Common slang used by common people in the common pursuit of 
common, psuedo-scientific mumbo jumbo.
