Do POs know the truth?

I know that many are aware of the truth about polygraphs and that they are complete BS. Do probation officers fall into this category? Is it part of their training that they know it's nothing but a scare tactic?

No doubt, there are some probation officers who understand that polygraph screening has no diagnostic value, but as Upton Sinclair observed, "It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it."
