Hello-

I'm curious as I was just told by my BI that there is a national application database that stores every applicants application for every department they have applied too?

Has anyone ever heard of this or no the validity of his statement? I've read through the Live Scan website and they state that they delete the finger prints after 30 days unless they are a felon?

Or, how long do you think departments hold onto applications that they dqd?

When I went to go take my polygraph for another agency, the polygrapher stated that he holds the results for only two years and then shreds them.

junelee,

I have never heard of the existence of any national database of state and local law enforcement applicants. If any such system is being built, I would be interested to learn more about that from any readers who may have knowledge of it.

Among federal agencies, employment applications may indeed be crosschecked, and such records are maintained for many years.
