I just took my first polygraph.  Thanks to having carefully read Ch. 3 of "The Lie Behind the Lie Detector" several times, I was very prepared on what to expect and there were no surprises.  I used controlled breathing and tongue biting countermeasures and passed with flying colors.  On at least one question, I was not telling the whole truth if not outright lying.

I had written this originally to get some positive reply's confirming the accuracy of what is presented on this site and in the book.  Since no one responded, I'm guessing this is all nonsense.  I actually didn't even take a polygraph yet, but I have to for work soon.

With respect to the accuracy of the information presented in our book, why not check the references we cite in The Lie Behind the Lie Detector yourself? Don't you suppose that would be more informative than posting a fabricated tale of countermeasure success and awaiting comment from anonymous strangers?

QuoteSince no one responded, I'm guessing this is all nonsense.
I have been struggling to find the sense in this syllogism but it seems to be missing one or more middle terms.

I don't know about everyone else, but the reason I didn't respond is that you didn't pose any question.

In fact, the only thing that I could find to respond to was:

QuoteOn at least one question, I was not telling the whole truth if not outright lying.
and the only thing I could think of to say was:

"Well, which was it, not telling the whole truth, or outright lying?  Don't you know?"

but I thought that might be a bit rude.
