I have an upcoming pre-employment polygraph and had a question about piezoelectric sensor pads. Is there a way to tell (wires, a certain look, etc) if these pads are on the chair I will be sitting in? Also, I have read TBTLD numerous times and am semi-confident in my ability to use counter measures. My plan was to use breathing and mental countermeasures to pass my polygraph. My problem with the mental countermeasures is that I am unsure of which to use. I feel like when I try to produce exciting thoughts my heart rate does not increase. However, with mental arithmetic I feel as if I am doing way to much. Here is an example: If I were to count backwards by 7's and I start at 999, the next number would be 993. But, from there I do not know the next number so I count from 7 to 13 assigning the next number a value. So 8 is 1, 9 is 2, 10 is 3, and so on until I reach 13. Then from 13's value (5) I would then know the next number in the sequence would be 985. Now, in TBTLD you state that you must count backwards as quickly as possible.... doing all that does not make it a quick process, is that ok? I figured if neither mental countermeasure works to try the anal contraction. Please let me know your advice on which cm to use (mental-exciting, mental-arithmetic, or anal contraction) along with my breathing cm's!

chimmychong,
I think you may be bogging yourself down in minutia. Try relaxing and working with a set of countermeasures that feel natural to you. I would not concern myself with sensor pads or other gadgetry.

Do you think I should just focus on my breathing and do the tongue biting cm though, I am fairly confident in my ability to pull that off if my chair is equipped with sensor pads.
