I'm currently on probation and was accused of violating it.  I didn't do it told them I didn't do it, but they're still making me take a polygraph which if they decide I failed can give me at least six months in jail.  How does that work?

The applicable laws and procedures will depend on your state of residence. I think in this situation, you really need the advice of a lawyer with a background in criminal law.
