Is there any way to get my results?

I took a poly for a state law enforcement agency for non-sworn position. I was told I was disqualified because of the poly. Is there any way to get the results of that test? I was completely honest and yet I was told I had been deceptive on a few questions. Is the agency obligated to give me the results?

Join the club.  We get a steady stream of people here in the same situation.  Reason:  The polygraph machine measures autonomic nervous system arousal, NOT DECEPTION.

Agencies don't have to give you jack diddley nothin!

I'm pretty sure you have access to files regarding yourself through the privacy act, though I'm not %100 percent sure.

Your experience is quite common.

Of course they don't want you doing research.  They'd prefer it if you go in naive and uninformed.

I was a military linguist (Chinese) for 20 years and had some mormon fellow linguists who had done missionary work in Taiwan.

So now you know what a farce the polygraph is.  SPREAD THE WORD!

You are correct in that the goal of the examiner on the retest was to get you to make an admission, so he could summarily fail you.  The FBI almost never passes people on a polygraph retest.  At least this way, you were dismissed with the satisfaction that you remained truthful and didn't fall for the con.

I'd say try the NSA, but now that you've failed a government polygrapn that option is not open.

Hey, you can make much better money in the private sector, without having to submit to this BS every 5 years during periodic security updates.  Go check out your options.  Did you do any networking when in Korea?

Find out when the FBI recruiter will be coming to your local campus.  Download some of the posters on this site and plaster the campus with them prior to the recruiter visit.

Good Luck!
