The website of the American Polygraph Association (APA) has earned mention as an example of poor web design on Vincent Flanders' WebPagesThatSuck.com, where it was the "Daily Sucker" for Monday, 25 August 2003. AntiPolygraph.org's design was favorably contrasted with it:

Drat, I would have thought the web site would be slammed for its policy about not posting anything negative about the polygraph.

Are you running out of material?  You seemed to be scraping the bottom with this one.   :D

How witty.

George,

If you scrape the very bottom of the barrel and you feel a slimy, jelly fish substance, for god's sake, pull your hands out and wash them in hot water and soap...

You've just touched a polygrapher!

Run to your doctor and get the necessary shots!

I don't think it would be entirely fair to fault the APA website for that. The APA is a trade organization; that it exists to further the interests of its membership is only to be expected. (If the APA had an ostensibly public message board that was actually censored like The Polygraph Place does, that would be a different matter.)

Although the APA website suffers from poor design in several respects, it also provides useful information. One of the best features, in my opinion, is its Quick Reference Guide to the Law.
