Just wanted more info about this type of test to try to determine if this was the kind of test they gave me at Broward Sheriffs Office, if it was a R/I test how is it graded if you miss 4 questions out of 18 do you automatically fail. Just wanting more info...Mended

Regarding the Relevant/Irrelevant "test," see Chapter 3 of The Lie Behind the Lie Detector.

A "consistent, specific, and significant" reaction to any relevant question, absent an explanation that the polygrapher deems adequate, may result in disqualification of an applicant.

NEw to this forum and dont know if this will be posted in the proper area.  I have a poly coming up for a police dept job and was wondering about the the truth behind the poly report.  I am reading the post and some are saying dont read it and others are go and read it.  Will educating myself by reading what goes on along with countermeasures help me or give me a false positive?  Very tempted to read it due to I want to do anything that will help my chances to get in but I dont want to jinx/mess it up either.

2die4,

You posted into the wrong message thread. I suggest you go to the message thread you referred to, and hit the "reply" button to add a post to that thread. Alternatively, you can hit the "new thread" button near the top of the page (on the right) to start a new message thread.
