Questionable outcome for poly

I had my first polygraph last week for a State LE agency.  I had mentioned all I could think of in the pre-test interview and all was fine with the polygrapher.  Once I was hooked up and the test had begun, I actually thought of a small incident of mistaken drug use 10 years prior when I was a juvenile.  I was thinking about it the entire rest of the test.  At conclusion, the polygrapher said I was failing, and I admitted to what I remembered.  Polygrapher said it shouldn't be a problem and I completed a breakdown test, to which the polygrapher said that the results looked better.  Polygrapher said the results would be up to Human Resources to decide whether I pass or fail.

Has anyone else had this happen and the outcome work positively for you?  Just wondering what my chances may be to actually pass and move on the process.  Thanks for any responses and/or advice.

Rock, in all fairness to the polygraph operator, I do acknowledge his use of the successive hurdles approach; others should follow his example rather than worshipping themselves. I think you may have misunderstood him when he said Human Resources would decide whether you pass or fail. I don't think he was referring to the polygraph results.  My bet is that you are in, good luck.
