All-

I was recently informed that i was declared "unclearable" at DIA two months before i received the intel from my security personnel (who was not informed until yesterday).  The process failed to go to adjucation as the COTR advised i just be dropped from the contract.  So i was never denied - the case was just closed as unclearable - but with no insight as to why.  As an uncleared contractor i have been working there for a year and a half while this long process constantly delayed.  i think they just got tired of dealing w/ my extensive SF-86 as i have lived all over the world.  So i think i was unjustly processed....is there any way i can ID what BI info they deemed "unlcearable"? or any other advice...

Much thanks

You can file a Privacy Act request with the Defense Intelligence Agency for all information it holds about you. Information on the DIA's Freedom of Information Act office is available here:

http://www.dia.mil/publicaffairs/Foia/foia.htm

You might also want to file a Privacy Act request with the Defense Security Service, which handles background investigations for DoD:

http://www.dss.mil/contactus/foia.htm

If you conclude your letters with the statement, "I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and
correct" you will not need to have your statement notarized. You'll find a sample Privacy Act request at Appendix D of The Lie Behind the Lie Detector.
