NBC has a new reality TV show called "Meet My Folks" whereby the parents decide who among a group of girls wins a trip to Europe with their son. http://www.nbc.com/Meet_My_Folks/ .    The contestants are subjected to polygraph exams conducted by an ominous looking fellow who uses a traditional looking polygraph machine, and interprets whether or not they are lying to questions posed by himself and by the parents. In the first episode one of the girls said she felt tingling and pains, after which he had her put her head in her lap for a few minutes.  He solemnly stated that people sometimes try to use countermeasures, but didn't think the contestant was.  The polygrapher interpreted the charts as they went, giving the parents a thumbs down sign when he interpreted they were lying, a thumbs up if he thought they were telling the truth.  What those silly girls won't go through to be on TV.  I want to tell them it's not that expensive to get to Europe this time of year, who needs to subject themselves to televised torture? And for what?  That hyena looking guy with the walrus parents?  Unbelievable.
