Hi all, longtime lurker, first time poster. I've read the lie behind the lie detector and don't think I need to employ countermeasures on my forthcoming "exam" - but I really want to know a little more about what I'll be facing...

I have a CIA polygraph coming up soon, and though I have nothing to hide, I feel it would do my mind a great deal of ease if anyone here could tell me what kinds of questions (and behavior and "intangibles," if any) to expect. I already have a TS clearance from another "Agency" (not the one that passes over) but they're still making me take this thing...so if anyone here has a personal experience with the CIA they wouldn't mind sharing, please post it here or send me a private message.  Thanks so much in advance!

rassdo,

I for one have been the victim of there polygraph goon squad. The TLBLD pretty much sums up what to expect and they will follow the format to a tee, with some minor deviations. But the thing to remember here is, you are under the polygoofers watch from the moment you step in the building, or at least while you are in the waiting area, until you are escourted into the interrogation room. But since you have been here to this website I must stress that admitting to knowing this website or any information on polygraphy is a killer to the process. And I believe now they are making you sign a document that says something to the effect that you have not researched polygraphy and do not plan on using countermeasures. This is an interrogation and the polygrapher is not there to help you. This is where the knowlege, practice and game face all come into play. Stick to your sf86 information and don't deviate. Thats about it, and good luck.
