is this a good sign?

I recently underwent a poly test for a large law enforcement agency.

The pre-test interview was grueling, with the usual pressure to get you to admit things and basically prop your stress level up.

Anyways, I didnt have a post-test interview.  Only the usual question between the sets of questions telling me the machine had picked up soemthing and asking me if I wanted to change my statements or add anything.

So, I personally feel i failed the test, due to very high stress level and the interviewer planting doubts in my mind about topics i felt very comfortable talkign about.

My question is, is the lack of post-test interview a good sign, or is it in no way an indication of one's results?

Thank you.

The absence of a post-test interrogation is indeed a good sign, because it is standard polygraph procedure to conduct one when the examinee is deemed to have "failed."

Thank you for your response.

One more question.  I already have a security clearance with another government outfit.  It is lower than the one i would be granted if i passed the polygraph, but it is still a fairly high security clearance.

Could that security clearance be void if I failed the poly test?

Thanks again.

Oh, and one more thing,

I didnt have a post-test interview per say, but the interviewer still asked me casual questions such as how did you find the test, and do you believe such test's results are valid.

I answered it was the most stressful event i had ever experienced and that based on his guess the card experiement, I guessed it was valid.

Did i burn myself there?

Thanks.

Failing a pre-employment polygraph "test" with one agency won't automatically void your clearance with another agency. However, it could cause you problems, and you may be asked about it when you come due for a periodic re-investigation.

No, I don't think so.

Thanks again for your reply.

Let me tell you that i found comfort in this site, knowing that i was not alone feeling cheated and guilty after a poly test.

I am seriously considering refusing the position i am applying for in case i pass the test.  I am not sure i wanna be part of an outfit that believes poly reveal the absolute truth.

btw, i have told people about this site, and most of them were surprised that the poly results were so contested.  I guess none of them had ever had one before.

Good luck to all.
