Ok I took a polygraph yesterday for a county probation officer position.  I was told that I would not get the results but that they would be forwarded on to the county agency, so I don't know how I did.  I am worried because I disclosed a couple instances of changing price tags in stores.  One being about a year ago.  There were three times and the maximum amount of money involved was $20.  I also told of two times within the last year of being with another person who shoplifted a very small grocery item.  I also told of calling in sick to work twice in the last year while not being sick.  I have nothing else to disclose like drugs or anything but I'm worried these things could keep me from getting the job.  Would I ever have the chance to discuss these things with the employer or would they just not hire me based on these type of things?  If anyone has experience with theft related disclosures that either were accepted or not by the employer I would love to hear your story.

Shelly,

It appears that you disclosed info about potential control questions.
Personally, i think you passed.  If you would have disclosed info on, say.... drug use or serious crimes, you wouldn't have a chance.

Good Luck

I talked to a friend that was in the same situation and they told him he had to be clean of everything for three years, even the small stuff. So if you dont' get in, stay clean and try again down the road.
