Thanks for the help.  Not only have you informed me about the "test" I will be taking.  You have informed me of such a waste that the Gov't uses.  Better background checks are needed not polygraphs.  Has anyone here taken the "TES" or the Counterintelligence Scope Poly?

polygraph4u,

Vato is correct that counterintelligence-scope polygraph "tests" like the TES do not include questions about drug use. The relevant questions cover whether you've ever committed an act of espionage, sabotage, or terrorism against the United States, whether you've disclosed classified information to any unauthorized person, and whether you've had unauthorized contact with a foreign national.

Vato,

Was wondering where did you get your information regarding the wording of the questions asked during this type of polygraph examination?

Polyhraph4u: Bud you have come to the wrong place for your information/advice.  I strongly urge you to contact your nearest Military Investigative Organization (AFOSI, USA/MI, or NCIS) and ask them to put you in touch with one of their polygraph examiners.  They'll inform you of the topic areas to be addressed during your exam.  The "mistakes of your past" won't be one of them.

Your CI scope polygraph will most likely consist of the following questions:

1.   Do you know anyone who is engaged in espionage or sabotage?

2.   Do you plan to commit espionage or sabotage against the United States?

3.   Have you ever been involved in Communist, Fascist, or Terrorist activity?

4.   Have you ever given, discussed, or sold classified materials to unauthorized persons?

5.   Have you ever had any secret contacts with foreign governments or agencies?

Drug use isn't dealt with on the CI.  That is addressed in the the "Lifestyles" poly.

George,
I have read your book and I have to say it is very informative.  You truly have brought light to a subject that is most troublesome.  I have been in the military for some time now.  But i am now faced with a Counterintelligence Scope "Test".  I fear that my drug use in high school may become a problem.  Do they ask any questions about drug history in a CI Scope poly or as you mentioned a TES "test"?  I have no fear of any of the "spy" questions, but do they pry into any other parts of your past?  Thank you for your time and all your help, it is much appreciated.  I just hope that the mistakes of my youth will not affect my future as a patriotic serviceman and citizen.
