Quote from: GeraldoGibbons on Dec 12, 2007, 12:40 PMHi all,
I hope somebody can help me out here. I've got a couple issues in my past that I'm hoping wouldn't DQ from another larger dept. that I'm about to start the background process with now.
1) I was DQ'd 4 months ago at a local dept. for "withholding information" which I really didn't do...long story. ( It was on a CVSA and this current dept. uses poly...do they distinguish? )
2) Had a bad employment experience 1 yr. ago in which I quit without notice ( I was laid off anyways so it didn't hurt my boss ) after I quit I kept a wheelbarrow of his that I was borrowing for a like 5 months then returned it and apologized. Also, I kept some money that I owed him because he owed me a paycheck and also unpaid overtime. ( When I returned the wheelbarrow I discussed this with him and was ok with it because he knew of the money that I owed him. So it really wasn't theft but just an irresponsible way of handling it ) So things now are ironed out with that employer.
3) On my Pre-ploy sheet I have to fill out, it says have you ever filed an unemployment claim fraudulently? Well I work construction and every winter I get laid off, collect unemployment, and try to find side jobs to earn cash over and above unemployment pay. I'm hoping they don't consider that fraud since I was never actually employed while collecting just doing some various side work to pay the bills.
4) I've taken small things from former employers like used materials that would be thrown away after a job...nothing expensive.
5) Drove drunk once when I was 19...wasn't convicted (24 yrs. old now)
Other than that, no drugs ever, no arrests, no traffic violations, no illegal activity. I plan to be fully honest on the poly, but am worried that I'll be framed as a liar because of my bad recent experience with the CVSA. Should I try?
Thanks.
