Bill,

I emailed nonombre & Greg, and they both had similar answers....I'll PM you the post-poly discussion, for fear of the polygrapher using this site.

Thanks,
Brian

the main way you tell if you failed is the intensity and nature of the post poly "discussion". If you didnt have one, or it was superficial, then you probably passed. but every dept is different on how many days you have to wait to find out

I know this will vary between agencies, but when a department conducts a polygraph before the background check, do they normally contact you before the investigation?

I was tested about a week and a half ago, and I haven't heard back.  Is it safe to assume they have begun the BG check?

They said "you will be contacted if you failed" and if you passed, the BG check woulld start immediately, and we will be notified upon completion of the BG check.

I would think someone would at least call, informing me the BG check has begun.  I know they are pressed for time, with a class starting again in less than 2 months, will the medical/psych check still left after the BG check, they are cutting it close.
