Good point!  I am interested in knowing whether the Coast Guard performs a polygraph examination.

I'm aware that one does not typically have to pass a polygraph to enlist in the military, but I was wondering if things have changed in the Coast Guard, given that it's now part of the Dpt. of Homeland Security.  Would a person with a Bachelor's degree who plans to enlist, apply to Officer Candidate School after nine months, and then return to civilian life after a 3-year contract as an Ensign ever encounter the polygraph?
