Even your very limited use of marijuana would bar you from FBI employment, because it occurred within the past three years.

And even if you were eligible for FBI employment, I would caution against submitting to an FBI pre-employment polygraph interrogation because of the very high failure rate (on the order of 50%) and the serious consequences of "failing" this invalid test. For more on this, see my article, "Just Say 'No' to FBI Polygraphs."

Hi.

I'm a student and applied for a summer position w/ the FBI. One of the questions asked whether I had smoked Marijuana w/i the last 3 yrs. I've never smoked cig or MJ ever until last year...when I tried only one puff (which i don't even know how to do) I'm worried that this will affect my polygraph. Is there a way to explain this..or is it better just to try the techniques on this website?

Thanks for your help!
