In a stunning upset, the American Polygraph Association Board of Directors failed to quash my run for APA president-elect in 2016.
At the APA annual business meeting on September 1st, the Board of Directors caved in to pressure from members who made it clear that their freedom of choice was not to be hijacked by the organization's politicos.

Once APA members got wind of the political maneuvering behind the proposed change, it was doomed.
Here's why:
1. Members saw that it was discriminatory.
2. It would have deprived the electorate of the freedom of choice that it has enjoyed for the past fifty (50) years.
3. The rule would have immediately disenfranchised approximately 30% of the voting electorate at the very least, that is, those individuals who would be inclined to vote for me in 2016.
All in all, it was a stupid idea, driven -- at least in my view -- by fear, loathing and hubris. Little wonder it went down in flames.
I give my sincerest thanks to my supporters -- and to every other APA member who is a critical thinker and polygraph realist (regardless of their political alignment) -- for their help in defeating the APA Board of Directors' power grab.
