Sorry.  Welcome to the "Witch Doctor Hotel" .... As I said before.. Are you sure you want to associate yourself with a group of 'frat boys' that believe in Voodoo?  The only people that believe in Polys or CVSAs are those who hear/see what they want to see, and those that make money (or living) from it.

It really does go to show how egotistical we are, as humans.  We really do refuse to believe that there are things we just won't/can't know.  "OH, NO!  NO YOU WILL tell me!  .... "I will just hook you up to there paperclips, rubber bands, and ink.... And it will tell me if you are telling the truth!!!"  HAHAHA LOL.

Thanks for sharing your story tho.  I love to drop these stories on LEO friends and then Heckle them a bit!

I have a question for everyone....

At the end of 2004 I took a polygraph to get into my local police academy, I passed this test with no question showing deceptive, I then took a CVSA in the middle of 2005, for a PD, once again I did not show deception on any question but was taking out of the process for failing a background check...in which everything disclosed was in the original application.

I then took another Polygraph last month and it showed I was deceptive on the question " Have you ever stolen currency from anyone?" and I answered no...which is 100% the truth..so needless to say I failed that poly, well today I just went and took another CVSA for a department that gave me a conditional offer, and I was honest throughout the whole test....I showed deceptive on  marijuana usage...I smoked marijuana one time 12 years ago, and so I admitted to it....he asked me why I would show deceptive and I once again advised him that I only smoked the 1 time 12 years ago.....

He said Good Luck and he will forward the results to my BI...

 My questions are.....

1. Why would I have passed the other 3 lie detector question regarding marijuana usage and not this one????

 2. Will my offer of employment be taken away because "it showed a little response" to one of the many questions asked?!?!?!?!?

 Thank you in advance
