QuoteI was wondering if you should eat before a polygraph or go in with an empty stomach. Or does it matter?

I strongly suggest getting a good meal right before your polygraph session.

We've been advised about numerous "marathon" polygraph sessions, especially those conducted by the US Secret Service.

Having the subject spend 5+ hours without any meal break appears to be a deliberate tactic designed to help wear the examinee down. You can be sure that the polygrapher will be enjoying his lunch behind the mirrored glass while he is "scoring the charts."

Another smart move may be to keep an energy bar in your pocket and grab a few quick bites from it in the stall during a bathroom break.
