I was told by someone who just started their academy that MPDC does not use the poly for police officer candidates...

Did you call them and ask?

Their website still lists it as a condition of employment.

I believe that some agencies  are now saying that they will use it if they see the need.  A kind of threat of use to scare away unwanted candidates.

The federal lawsuit also may have had some effect.  Some agencies are now saying that the polygraph is not the sole determiner of whether a candidate is hired or not (not sure I would believe that).

anyone know if the MPD uses pre-employment poly's??? I heard they stopped usuing them but I was just wondering if anyone knew for sure...
