I caught part of a special on PBS last night about Afghanistan and Iraq. It basically said that the U.S. Government is using U.S. contractors to perform duties that would be illegal for the armed forces to perform (IE, torture).

I just had an applicant who returned from Afghanistan after two years with Dynacorp. Prior to going, he was a stellar police officer. He came back and detailed to me how he murdered civilians, more than he could remember. He described most of them as innocent. His job was dignitary protection, mostly U.S. senators. We checked with his supervisor in Afghanistan, and what he reported actually occurs, on a regular basis.

He didn't make it. Serious quesitons here and on the psych exam. So far, I have had the pleasure of polygraphing three such as this applicant. All report similiar circumstances. None were hired. All were police officers before going overseas to work for Dynacorp or equivilant.

My quesiton is, is anyone else having the same experience with these applicants? If so, shouldn't we be warning officers who are thinking about taking the money (up to $200,000 per year) for a year or two, that they will probably be ending their career?

Not to long ago I spoke to a former member of Black Water and a former SEAL. He is now trying to become a police office and reported similiar types of situations over there. I would doubt he will make it as a cop.

Anyone else seeing this?

You need to make a criminal referral to the U.S. Department of Justice.
