Hello all, I am new here and I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Rick Archer and I am a new polygraph operator (2 years) with the Decatur Police Department in Alabama where I have worked for twelve years. I graduated from Chuck Slupski's polygraph school in 2005. I do polygraph part time, mostly pre-employement and specific issue. Most of my time is spent supervising the Violent Crimes Unit at our department. I've been coming to this site for several months jsut getting the feel of things, and I've been in the private forum now for about a month or two. I went to polygraph school as somewhat of a skeptic, but of course I was soon amazed at the science and psychology involved. I am proud to be a new member of the polygraph communityand I look forward to talking with many of you in the future. If any of you need anything in my area, feel free to call me at work, (256) 341-4647 or email me at rarcher@decatur-al.gov.

Welcome Arch! Please discuss things, make jokes, or rant about bad guys (or whatever) here. We need the additional company.

Welcome Rick.

Chuck let you say "operator" without making a deposit in the swear jar? That was about as bad as saying "needles" where I went.

Now go ahead and tell us a good joke as Stat suggested. I would, but Marlin tells them better than I do. (Remember Marlin? The clownfish from Finding Nemo?)

If you need anything, we're here for you as well.

Here's a bad polygrapher joke;

Why did the polygraph examiner cross the road?

answer; Because he couldn't afford to park in the pay lot!

Here's one more;

2 polygraph Examiners walk into a bar, the bartender says, "what'll it be gents?" --------to which both Examiners argue what drink "works" for the time, place, and individuals.

sigh. These jokes blow.

p.s. Arch, I am in Indiana....and if you need anything, contact John Mellencamp (lol)

Stick around Arch!

An Ethics joke:

A woman walk into a polygraph examiner's office and says I am very nervous. She told the examiner that she also feels over weight and ugly and asks the examiner to please pay her a compliment. The ethical examiner says "You have excellent eyesight".

Welcome Rick!

Thanks guys and thanks Sackett for helping to get my access cleared so quickly.

The swear jar! Now that's funny....unless Chuck is watching in which case I am not a polygraph operator I am a polygraph examiner...and it's not a machine either.

In Texas we had a yellow monkey that would sit in front of you until someone else slipped! The monkey became my friend! Taylor

At Backster's, we had a red plastic pig. Everytime you called the polygraph a "machine" instead of an "instrument", you had to put a quarter in the pig. When it filled up, Cleve sent the money to a local charity.

Cleve also had "The Wheel of Misfortune" but that is another thread!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Ted

Welcome Arch,

We have fun here, and we learn. There are the heated arguments, well maybe warm arugments and discussions. We all learn from each other and I look forward to learning from you. Don't be afraid to post mistakes or errors you have encountered, someone will always offer solutions to avoid them in the future. Many times I have simply read some other examiner posting comments, used the suggestions and found them to be of value. Again, WELCOME

At the KGB, our wives were sold into slavery if we called the pens "needles" on analogue instruments. lol!
