To All My Politically Correct Friends:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, interpersonally-sensitive, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. This wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

To All My Other Friends:

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Thanks Folks! Back atcha.

Dangit! My 6 yr old found THE ENTIRE unwrapped stash of Santa's soon to be delivered gifts. I was hoping to preserve the facade for another year or two. Being so low on cash at this 11th hour, I am afraid I have to either spill the beans, or go out and buy him a deck of cards or something pathetic and cheap----so even if I salvage the Santa myth, my boy will assume Santa is a cheap bastard.

ebvan, that was funny.

Happy Christmafestivuhannikwanaznew-year. And whatever else I forgot.

----------------

stat,

Your six year-old is doing his job (to search through absolutely everything you own). Best plan is: 1) don't answer any questions, 2) admit nothing, and 3) make him prove it. You might want to talk with an attorney if he presses you for a polygraph test - and there are website where you can learn to get away with lying to those things anyway.

Peace, and be safe.

Tough to get beat by a six year old. Put him in front of the computer at this web-site http://www.noradsanta.org/

This should keep him occupied for a while. If not, I use duct tape on my grandkids with moderate success.

Merry Christmas

Stat, You might go back with "OK Santa is getting old and he has a little trouble getting ALL the way around the world in one night.
So there are some homes where he drops off the gifts a day or 2 early, just to be absolutely sure they are always there on Christmas morning, but only where the boys and girls are exceptionally good and promise not to ever be present snoopers again. If boys and girls snoop then Santa can't be sure it's safe to leave the presents early.
As long as they don't snoop they can be sure that on Christmas morning there will be something wonderful under the tree. "

Or you can always use the tried and trus, "As soon as you quit believing Santa will quit coming." I've got 2 sons in college and I've never heard either one say out loud they didn't believe in Santa.

May your Ho's always come in groups of three
