I would like to thank everyone for their previous posts on this subject, but especially stat for the brochure. I learned much from this discussion, and have modified my practices accordingly. I can't help but be an oldie but I do try never to be a moldy. I have found a licensed marriage and family guy in my area who does this work for the military and we are establishing a working relationship. Nothing like an old dog learning a new trick! Speak of the devil I was roped in (yes not by choice) to working the physical today for 200 hopefuls. We were going to take bids on the slowest mile. I'll say 20 minutes. It's been twelve years for me but I think it was: Pullups, Situps(60 sec), High Jump, Broad Jump, Pushups(60 sec), & 1 Mile Run. The academy was the same thing. (you had to pass it twice). Except the run was 1.5 Mile, and they added a sit and reach and 50 yard dash. The physical caught my eye, but while I am here, I guess I'll add my "rookie 2 cents." I have 2 jobs, one public and one private...can I really look at this fairly. Can guys paid by the govt' every week look at this impartially? What I am getting at is the fact that it seems that private polygraph work is slow. I am a huge supporter of doing the right thing and perfection in any given field. With that being said examiners need to pay the bills. I think in our pursuit of perfection we forget that this is also a business. Is this about saving a marriage, or a $300.00 check deposit? If its just about money, then I fear we'll wake up one day feeling a lot like Faust. Only two days to home, and I've already missed my flight in Los Angeles tommorrow...

Physical tests-----yeck. I get winded opening a box of cereal these days.Joe, thanks for the followup. Wouldn't it be cool to strengthen your domestic testing with shared responsibility AND increase your business? Sounds like a winning plan man----good job! p.s. Benji (my 6 yr old) and I are building model rockets for launching. He asked me if we might "break/damage" any clouds accidentally. Kids. Who knew such activities would give birth to so many lessons/discussions about stuff we take for granted. I spent 15 minutes talking about clouds and after everything was said, he asked "so, will the rocket get stuck in the clouds?"

Ok, kidding around.
I just drafted the brochure up some weeks ago and posted it. The pictures (artwork) have not gotten the proper clip-art permission, and of course there is no official APA approval. Feel free to take the document, change it if you will---make it better. No one 'round here gave it any time---so feel free.
