The damn picture is coprighted by that S____ little newspaper---it won't let me "save as" in order to post here. I sent an email to the HNP for permission for the picture to be reformatted for not-for-profit reasons. Stand by.IP: Logged |

I had no problem saving the pic. I use Firefox, not IE, and use a proxy to the NL. You may have to delete all your cookies. There are some HTML tags that can prevent saving images. There is also a hack if you view the HTML code (CTRL-U in Firefox) and the read through the code for the image url. While viewing the document first, hold your mouse over the pic, to see the URL. Then find the url in the HTML source. Copy the image url to a new browser window and save. Once you know what to do its real fast. Use a proxy to the NL news server, or try searching the NL google site. The URL you posted worked for me at first, but doesn't now. Large websites have Content Management Systems that create pages and URL's from a backend database. Its efficient, but the URLs change. r

Or, in order to capture the photo, press control and Print Screen button, then open up Windows Paint program in the Accessories Folder, and paste the photo in there.------------------ Ben blalockben@hotmail.com IP: Logged |

The newspaper(if you could call those idiots such) sent me an email asking for my destination code. Ralph, could you send me the polygraph place destination code? It's supposedly a 16 digit code of web gibberish. I asked him if he were asking for a simple IP address, and the moron hasn't written back. Should I give him my own personal IP address?[This message has been edited by stat (edited 03-31-2008).] IP: Logged |

http://www.thehaguenews.org or try http://www.denhagnews.nl I get to them through a proxy, but I also have to have my proxy on to this site (PP) at times - like today. Otherwise I get error 404 - page not found. I printed the page to a .pdf while I'll upload later when I can get to my .ftp Eric, your IP won't work. Don't irritate them with that. They just want to protect their rights to their photographers images, but they'll probably always allow what's called "fair use." Get the number from Ralph. r

OK, I'm now in my I.S. computer class, waiting for a tardy instructor. When he arrives, I have to log off. I am going to try a proxy server that a fellow student (bigtime nerd) said will open all types of files in even heavy trafficflow/ low priority websites. We aren't allowed to store internet files larger than 1 puny megabyte, so I hope the file is small. The picture of Georgie being "escorted" isn't exactly National Geographic material, so I doubt there'll be a problem. Apperently he was arrested for striking or pushing a store owner who promised a price on the telephone for some sort of foreign word for outdoor decorations (yard ornaments?) He looks aweful--like Nick Nolte with a wind flapping comb over. His wife looks pretty though. I'll try again--here's my flakey prof---gotago.IP: Logged |

They use the words "attempting to purchase a dershmente bluine"---web translator says "yard decoration." Ralph, are we not-for-profit here? All I need is that generic public site number. Sackett? JB? Comeon. Ray, your hyperlinks don't work---and I get a message saying "Euroworks1 is temporarily down due to higher than normal requests." have U tried just plain old win explorer ? It's a crummy little newspaper in Leiden, outside of the hague. That makse sense that law enforcement would be so heavy handed in a dinky little S----hole town--unless Pat called in a favor from an international contact, eh Pat?IP: Logged |

Aw shucks fellas! I wanted to spill it at midnight. Check the records gents, April fool's hoaxes can begin on the eve of the holiday (think Christmas Eve) and last until zero hour on the 1st. So I was using the Mayan Calender, big deal. lol [This message has been edited by stat (edited 03-31-2008).] IP: Logged |

PC, go back to antipolygraph and delete the post---as after so many hours (or is it days) you can't edit posts. Never print a story until you confirm the source (jrl 101). Go back and read the posts----you guys were hilarious. Ray was superb. My original hoax was going to be the UFO pic,---but I gave up finishing it because it occured to me that you all would know immediately my tendency to photoshop. That lasted 2 minutes. The George story was better I think. Gordon, what----did you scan our posts with SA or something? Or---were you taking a bold chance with such a confident proclaimation?IP: Logged |
