George:

First off, thanks for this very imformative website!

For a pre-employment test, and if they are to be used, should CM be used as follows:

Irrelevent:  Use no CM.

Sacrifice Relevant:  Use no CM.

Relevant:  Use no CM.

Symptomatic Irrelevant:  Use no CM.

Control:  Use CM

Stim Test:  Use CM only when you are asked to lie about the one number you chose.  On all other numbers, use no CM?

Are the above accuarte?

Thanks!

Yes, the above is basically correct, though the term "Symptomatic Irrelevant" is not used by polygraph examiners. They are simply called "symptomatic" questions. One needn't produce a reaction to symptomatic question (if asked--in most cases, they are not included). Although I haven't suggested it before, I can see how producing strong reactions to a symptomatic question could be used as part of a countermeasure strategy.
